Long day at work today. I had a major deliverable I had to produce but several higher priority things popped up requiring me to pull a late one.
Problem is, I had a date lined up at a sushi bar with an ex-stripper I haven't closed yet and her large group of friends. I text her "Sorry, I can only grab a drink and say hi. No sushi for me 2nite." She texts back OK.
We were supposed to meet at 7pm. I slip out of work right at 7 with a look from my CEO who knows all that I have to get done tonight. I show up at 7:15pm and grab a beer. And wait. And wait. I think I am about to get stood up when Stripper shows up at 7:45 full of apologies.
Her group has been there the whole time so she introduces me and we grab a table. I tell her I can stay until about 9pm and then will have to get back.
The whole group is in a big conversation except for us. We are looking into each others eyes, playing with each other's hands under the table and flirting which effectively isolates us in the group.
Things are going fine when my phone rings. Its work and I have to go. I tell her I have to leave and she gives me sad eyes and tells me she is having fun. I apologize, give her a big, big hug and head out.
She texts me on my drive that it was great seeing me. She texts me again later saying she is full and that I missed a great dinner.
Then she calls me on her drive home and wishes I could have stayed and wants to know when we are going to go out again. I am shocked that I made such an impression.
I think that work calling me away provided the take away that spiked her interest. Most guys probably fawn all over her and I ditch her in front of her friends.
We will hopefully be seeing each other again and I will have something more exciting to post about our next date.
